[Case Study of Cleaning System Implementation] Cleaning of Thin Sheet Press Processing! Alternative to Chlorine-based Cleaning

Are you having trouble cleaning thin parts? The effectiveness of vacuum ultrasonic cleaning is significant! It provides a good working environment as an alternative to chlorine-based cleaning agents.

Company F mass-produces thin press parts, and after cleaning, these thin parts undergo assembly processes in-house to become finished products. Although the assembly machine was automated, it turned out that the parts we thought were being cleaned were not actually clean, and the automatic machine caused the thin parts to stick together, leading to blockages and difficulties. We had been using trichloroethylene (chlorinated solvent) for cleaning, but due to environmental regulations and its strong toxicity, we were considering alternative cleaning methods. By introducing a hydrocarbon-based cleaning machine that takes into account human health and the environment, we improved cleaning efficiency, resulting in increased productivity. **Challenges** - We do not want to use trichloroethylene due to its toxicity and environmental regulations. - Thin press parts are sticking together and cannot be cleaned. - The takt time is about 3 minutes, but with re-cleaning and other factors, capacity is at its limit. **Results** - Achieved environmental compliance by using hydrocarbon agents. - Performed vacuum ultrasonic cleaning, which effectively cleaned between the thin sticking parts. - By using two drying chambers, we achieved a takt time of 3.5 to 4 minutes. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Case Study of Cleaning System Implementation] Cleaning Agent Consumption Reduced by 1/2! Cleaning of Automotive Machined Parts

The idea that "cleaning machines are all pretty much the same" was wrong! We have successfully reduced the amount of cleaning agents used significantly!

Company K manufactures cutting parts for automobiles. They had already purchased and operated a hydrocarbon cleaning machine 15 years ago, but due to increasing malfunctions, they were considering an upgrade. It was decided to stick with a hydrocarbon-based cleaning machine, but there was a desire to introduce something better than the current machine. Thus, they introduced our "CLEANVY." With its unique pump system, solvent consumption was reduced by half, and maintenance costs were eliminated. Additionally, running costs were also halved, successfully reducing manufacturing costs. [Challenges] - They use 600L of cleaning solution per month. - The dry vacuum pump has frequent maintenance and breakdown issues. - The replacement of the heating medium oil occurs every 6 months, which is quite frequent. - Poor drying issues have arisen with new parts. [Results] - Reduced the usage of cleaning solution to 300L per month (half). - Achieved maintenance-free operation with a unique vacuum pump system. - Extended the replacement interval for heating medium oil to about once every 3 years, increasing it fourfold. - High drying performance. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Case Study of Cleaning System Implementation] Improved Productivity! Cleaning of Copper and Brass Pressed Parts

The installation space is compact with a one-bus type washing machine! It features automatic transport for labor-saving! The distillation regeneration capability has also been enhanced to maintain high cleaning performance throughout the day.

Company S is engaged in the press processing of terminal components made of copper and brass materials. It is necessary to remove the press oil before shipping, and although we had a hydrocarbon cleaning one-bath cleaning machine, we are considering an update due to its aging. Amidst fierce cost competition, there was a strong desire to reduce labor costs through automation. By installing an automatic transport mechanism, the burden on workers has decreased, and cost reductions have been achieved through shortened discharge work times. 【Challenges】 ■ Frequent failures due to degradation of the cleaning machine (including the vacuum pump) ■ Desire to shorten work time but unable to secure a large installation space ■ Some items cannot be cleaned in the evening (stains remain) 【Results】 ■ Extremely few failures with the unique vacuum pump system ■ By using an automatic transport one-bath cleaning machine, work time is shortened and it is compact ■ By enhancing distillation capacity, cleaning performance can be maintained throughout the day *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study of Cleaning System Implementation] Pre-cleaning before PVD Coating! Significant Reduction in Cleaning Failures

An optimal cleaning system for pre-coating that suppresses stains and cobalt leaching! High cleaning performance for oil holes as well! After cleaning, high cleaning performance without the need for hand wiping!

Company N is a business that provides contract processing for PVD coating. They handle various workpieces with different types of contaminants from a range of customers, applying coatings such as TiN and DLC to substrates like carbide tools (new and re-ground) and metal parts. Insufficient cleaning of equipment can lead to issues such as poor adhesion and outgassing, which are causes of coating defects. Traditionally, it was common to perform manual wiping with acetone after passing through the cleaning machine to avoid defects. However, after introducing "WS Emulsion Cleaning," they have been able to operate without manual wiping. [Challenges] - Manual wiping with acetone after cleaning is time-consuming. - The current cleaning machine has effects on the substrates (cobalt leaching, rust). - Managing the cleaning solution is difficult. [Results] - Improved cleaning performance has led to increased productivity without manual wiping after cleaning. - There is less impact on the substrates, making coating defects less likely. - Liquid management has become easier. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] CASE06: Metal Oil Cutting Parts Factory, Company F

No problem even if the specified quantity is full! A cleaning machine that does not fall under the Fire Service Act, using next-generation cleaning agents for drainage.

Company F is engaged in the machining of metal parts. Before proceeding to the next process after machining, intermediate cleaning is necessary; however, the factory was already at full capacity with the specified amount of cutting oil. Therefore, we used our non-combustible detergent "HA-IS16" for cleaning. This product is a non-halogen, non-flammable solvent that does not fall under the Fire Service Act, but it is not a water-based cleaning agent. Its cleaning performance is superior to that of water-based cleaners, and it is capable of vacuum cleaning and accommodating multiple shapes. Additionally, since it can be regenerated through distillation, there is no need for replacing the cleaning agent or wastewater treatment, thus reducing running costs. [Challenges] ■ The specified quantity under the Fire Service Act is at capacity, and no additional hazardous materials can be added. ■ Water-based cleaning is not possible due to the lack of wastewater treatment facilities. ■ We want to ensure thorough cleaning of the entire part, including blind holes. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] CASE07: Cutting of Aluminum Parts for HV/EV Vehicles - Company S

Dry water-soluble stains can also be cleaned with hydrocarbon-based solutions! A beautiful finish without watermarks.

Company S manufactures aluminum parts through cutting processing and is now accepting orders for new HV and EV parts. Until now, cleaning involved merely dipping in a first-grade petroleum-based cleaning agent. With the acceptance of automotive parts orders, unmanned operations such as machining have become essential, and when using water-soluble cutting oil, the previous cleaning method resulted in stains. We also tested water-based cleaning, but it had poor drying properties and issues such as watermarks arose. Additionally, during quality checks after cutting, air blowing transformed the stains into dry water-soluble residues. "WS Emulsion" can effectively clean even dry water-soluble stains. [Challenges] ■ Stains appear due to the use of water-soluble cutting oil ■ Water-based cleaning has issues with watermarks and drying properties ■ There are also dry water-soluble stains *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] CASE08: Industrial Equipment Parts Manufacturing Company N

The allowable management concentration of odorless solvent is set at 0.5 ppm! The stop hole components have high cleanliness through vacuum cleaning.

At Company N, we manufacture hydraulic equipment parts through cutting processes and perform assembly before shipping. Previously, we used brominated cleaning agents (1-bromopropane), but due to the very strict allowable management concentration of 0.5 ppm, we were looking for a new cleaning system. We perform cleaning before assembly, but with parts that have blind holes, we were unable to clean thoroughly with brominated solvents, requiring additional cleaning with parts cleaners during assembly. After introducing a hydrocarbon-based cleaning machine, we were able to clean the blind holes effectively, and the productivity of the assembly process improved. [Challenges] ■ Brominated cleaning agents are toxic and difficult to manage. ■ The interiors of blind holes are not being cleaned. ■ Additional cleaning is being done with parts cleaners during assembly. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] CASE09: Plating Processing Factory, Company T

Improved cleaning performance with degassed liquid external oscillation cleaning! Complete drying achieved for various parts through temperature control in the drying chamber.

Company T is engaged in contract plating processes for Ni and Sn. The parts entrusted by customers are washed with a hydrocarbon cleaning machine before the plating process. The equipment is aging, and an update is being considered. The process flow was "Tank 1: Vacuum ultrasonic cleaning → Tank 2: Vacuum cleaning," but due to cleaning failures leading to plating defects, unnecessary steps such as passing through twice were involved, and there were also issues with inadequate drying. Therefore, we introduced our "CLEANVY." By cleaning with "Tank 1: Degassing liquid external oscillation system → Tank 2: Vacuum ultrasonic cleaning," we can achieve a clean finish in one cleaning cycle and resolve the issues with inadequate drying. [Challenges] ■ One pass through the cleaning machine is not sufficient, leading to plating defects. ■ There are many types of parts, and some may experience inadequate drying. ■ The maintenance costs for the vacuum pump are high. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Thorough cleaning in every corner with vacuum ultrasonic cleaning! Reduces foreign substances by 99% and improves quality defects! Space-saving introduction of cleaning machines.

Company A designs and assembles machine parts. The parts are manufactured externally and arrive coated with anti-rust oil. We manufacture spindle units, but until now, workers have been manually cleaning the incoming parts using parts cleaners. Since these parts rotate at high speeds, any foreign matter can lead to bearing damage. However, issues have arisen due to inconsistencies in cleaning effectiveness among workers. With a one-bath type cleaning machine, we were able to create a compact installation space, significantly improve cleaning effectiveness, and resolve quality issues after assembly. [Challenges] - Residual foreign matter (contamination) negatively affects the quality of the final product after assembly. - There are inconsistencies due to human operation. - Since the volume of parts to be cleaned is not large, we wanted a machine that is as compact as possible. [Results] - By performing vacuum ultrasonic cleaning, we can remove contamination and improve product quality. - If a basket is placed in the washing tank, the cleaning machine automatically handles the cleaning and drying processes. - The one-bath type cleaning machine has a compact installation space. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
