Lonza will be exhibiting at the "Food Development Expo 2025" held at Tokyo Big Sight. We will introduce L-Carnitine 'Carnipure(R)', newly accepted for functional labeling food as a fat-burning ingredient, and non-denatured type II collagen 'UC-II(R)', which has been accepted not only for knee joint support but also for supporting the walking habits of those who exercise. Additionally, we will present our unique capsule technology, which allows various types of materials, including oil-based, water-based, and bead types, to be filled into a single capsule: the liquid-filled hard capsule 'Licaps(R)'. This technology can accommodate formulations that are difficult to commercialize with other dosage forms, enabling us to propose high-value original supplement designs. • Filling and bottling machines

The Monocyte Activation Test (MAT) is an in vitro test based on the detection of inflammatory cytokines released from human blood monocytes in response to stimulation by pyrogens (fever-inducing substances). MAT can detect endotoxins as well as non-endotoxin pyrogens (NEPs) in raw materials, intermediates, manufacturing samples, and manufactured products within the biopharmaceutical or medical device industry. The measurement method involves first exposing the test substance to PyroCellRpMAT cells and incubating them at 37°C for 18 to 24 hours. Subsequently, IL-6 secreted into the culture supernatant is detected using an anti-IL-6 ELISA method to create a standard curve. The IL-6 present in the test sample is quantified based on the absorbance detected by the anti-IL-6 ELISA, calculating the pyrogenic activity (EU/mL). This kit complies with the regulatory requirements outlined in the European Pharmacopoeia (Chapter 2.6.30) and targets IL-6, which has been clinically confirmed to correlate with pyrogens among inflammatory cytokines. By detecting the molecular weight of IL-6 in cell culture supernatants using the ELISA method, it is possible to quantitatively analyze the pyrogenic activity expressed as endotoxin units (EU/mL).

• Contract Inspection

The MycoAlert Mycoplasma Detection Kit is an advanced biochemical testing kit that utilizes the activity of mycoplasma enzymes, which are not present in eukaryotic cells, to detect the majority of 180 types of mycoplasma (including all 6 types that are the main causes of cell culture contamination). The surviving mycoplasma in the sample is lysed, and the enzymes react with the MycoAlert substrate, catalyzing the conversion from ADP to ATP. With an extremely short processing time of just one minute per plate, it is ideal for screenings that require reproducibility. The large-capacity device LV unit has been introduced as an expansion unit for the 4D-Nucleofector. It is a Nucleofector device capable of introducing genes into a large number of cells, ranging from 1×10^7 to 1×10^9, in a closed system at once. First, you can try it on a small scale with the 4D-Nucleofecto-X unit, and then apply the same protocol used with the X unit directly to the 4D-Nucleofector-LV unit. The "96-well unit" can process up to 96 samples at once and can operate continuously after execution.
