One of the concerns regarding the automation of sample management is the feedback that "automation is not progressing because the tubes do not have a two-dimensional barcode on the bottom." By adding a 360° rotation head to Liconic's automated biobank "BiOLiX" series tube picking robot, we can enable the reading of barcodes on the side of the tubes.
