Setsurotech is a venture company founded in 2017 based on the technology and know-how cultivated at Tokushima University. Ryuuya Takemoto (Chairman and CTO) and others from Tokushima University developed a method in 2015 for easily and efficiently creating genome-edited mice (Patent No. 6980218). Additionally, Toshiyuki Sawatsubashi (Director and CSO) from Tokushima University developed the VIKING method, which achieves high-efficiency genome editing in cultured cells (Patent No. 6956995). Furthermore, they have developed a unique new genome editing factor, ST8 (Patent No. 7113415), and are advancing research and development to accelerate breeding improvements in agriculture and livestock, in addition to the medical field. Setsurotech utilizes these unique technologies to offer genome editing contract services for researchers in academia and industry, as well as to broadly provide genome-edited organisms to the industrial sector, aiming to develop the genome editing industry through the PAGEs (Platform Application using Genome Editing by Setsurotech) initiative. With the vision of making Tokushima the birthplace of the genome editing industry, we are committed to contributing to the local industry.
