A cartridge heater is a high-power density rod heater that wraps a heating wire (nichrome wire) around a rod-shaped core, inserts it into a pipe, and seals the gap between the heating wire and the pipe with MgO, which has excellent thermal conductivity and high insulation properties. Typically, cartridge heaters are used by inserting them into holes in heating plates, but they can also be utilized for water heaters, steam applications, and vacuum use by attaching flanges or screw bushings. They can be used in plastic processing machines, automatic packaging machines, etc., and can be adapted for liquid use by providing suitable fittings such as flanges.
