Do you have concerns such as "the molded product cracks even though it has rigidity"? This is a problem that arises from not understanding the characteristics of the resin material during the design of extruded products. At Meihou Kako, we conduct the design and manufacturing of extrusion molding while thoroughly understanding not only the properties of the resin materials but also the balance with the usage environment and applications. 【Points during Design and Molding】 ■ The selection of materials affects the strength of the molded product - At Meihou Kako, we have a deep understanding of the characteristics of various resin materials and conduct suitable designs based on the material's features, intended use, and desired strength. ■ Changing the structure of the molding can alter its strength - If it is absolutely necessary to keep the material unchanged, we enhance strength by adding ingenuity to the structure. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWhen considering extruded molded products, I feel that many people struggle with fit. Typically, molded products are rarely used alone; they are often combined with other molded products or used together with materials like aluminum, making fit very important. When combining with other components, to ensure that there is no issue with fit, it is necessary to envision the operational behavior of the molded product and design the shape by considering questions such as "Which part will flex to fit?" and "Is the fit acceptable with this thickness?" At Meihou Chemical, we leverage the extensive experience we have accumulated to provide suitable advice based on a solid understanding of the usage conditions of molded products. [Points for Design and Molding] ■ Achieving flexible fit through design that anticipates usage conditions - It is necessary to consider elements such as "hardness, flexibility, pivot points, whether to create an interference fit, and material selection" during design and manufacturing. - To control fit, these elements should be balanced based on the product's usage conditions. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registration"How thick should the material be?" "Is this thickness okay?" Do you have such concerns? When we receive such inquiries, we first ask in detail about the intended use and environment of the molded product. After that, we consider the combination of thickness and the resin material used for molding, and we propose molded products with suitable thickness and strength that meet your requirements and usage environment. At Meihou Chemical, we understand the characteristics of the materials and have a solid grasp of the combination of thickness and resin materials, allowing us to design and manufacture extrusion molded products. [Features] ■ The thickness affects many factors such as the strength, rigidity, flexibility, and fit of the molded product. ■ By adjusting to the appropriate thickness, we can achieve the desired rigidity and strength. ■ Cost reduction is possible through design innovations and foaming of solid shapes. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationHere is an example of manufacturing foam extrusion molded products. We received a request from a customer to "manufacture entrance frames for prefabricated houses while keeping costs as low as possible." Due to the high demand for cost reduction, we produced the frames using foam extrusion in addition to two-color extrusion. We used inexpensive recycled PS (polystyrene) for the core and covered it with AS for the surface. Additionally, upon further inquiry about the application, we learned that a certain thickness was required and that screws would be used for assembly, which is why we opted for foam molding. [Overview] ■ Material used: PS (polystyrene) ■ Processing method: Foam extrusion molding *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationHere is a case study of manufacturing foamed extruded products. We received an inquiry from a customer asking, "We would like to manufacture building material components that we have been using in steel with resin. Is this possible?" First, we looked at the current products and conducted a detailed hearing regarding the usage environment and applications. Since the customer was concerned about condensation, we chose to use PVC foam, which has high insulation properties, instead of rigid PVC solid. 【Overview】 ■ Material used: PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) ■ Processing details: Foamed extrusion molding / Length cutting (chop saw cutting) ■ Customer requirements: Wall thickness *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationHere is a case study of manufacturing foamed extruded products. We received an inquiry from a customer asking, "Is it possible to extrude pipes using foamed PP?" Generally, among the various types of extrusion, PP is a material that is difficult to foam extrude. Moreover, when it comes to hollow pipes, it becomes even more challenging. Based on previous experience, I believed it was possible, so we prototyped using a suitable mold available in our company. The result was a hollow shape, and we were able to achieve foamed extrusion without foaming on the inner diameter side. [Overview] ■ Material used: PP (Polypropylene) ■ Processing content: Foamed extrusion *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study of manufacturing resin two-color molded products. We received a request from a customer to "manufacture molded products for use as building materials," and since they had little experience with extrusion molding, we first reviewed the drawings while also conducting a hearing on the intended use and materials. As we inquired about the application and usage conditions, we learned that the product needed to secure metal and function as a clamp for boards. Therefore, we proposed incorporating cushioning properties, slip resistance, and hinge functionality. By placing elastomers in four locations and effectively combining them with ABS material, we were able to manufacture molded products suitable for the customer's application. 【Overview】 ■ Material used: Elastomer / ABS ■ Processing details: Resin two-color molding *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationHere is an example of manufacturing a two-color resin molded product. We received a request from a customer who wanted to develop a new wood grain pattern for a product that has been previously molded in a standard color using irregular extrusion molding. We attempted to mold the wood grain pattern without modifying the existing mold. Since we are simultaneously molding the colors currently in production, we couldn't make any changes to the mold and instead focused on re-evaluating the hard PVC material to achieve the wood grain effect. The wood grain pattern does not achieve the stability of a printed sheet and can only be produced to a certain extent. However, considering the cost, this was deemed sufficient, and the product was commercialized. This is a wood grain molding unique to hard PVC materials. [Overview] ■ Material used: PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) ■ Processing content: Two-color resin molding ■ Request point: Wood grain pattern *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study of manufacturing two-color resin molded products. The customer is considering resin molded products with a wood grain pattern and we created prototypes to see what kind of wood grain pattern could be achieved. As a theme for future consideration, we prototyped using our existing molds. We have experience with wood grain patterns in hard PVC, ABS, and PS, so we utilized that experience for this trial. Although we had no experience with soft PVC, we achieved a wood grain pattern as shown in the photo. The base for two-color molding can accommodate either hard PVC or soft PVC. We would like to explore application development and other considerations moving forward. 【Overview】 ■ Material used: Soft PVC (surface) ■ Processing content: Two-color resin molding ■ Customer request point: Wood grain pattern *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
