Free membership registrationHere are some examples of the utilization of "T-LASER." Laser welding poses a problem where microcracks can occur when adding material to high-hardness materials due to rapid heating and cooling. Additionally, even if cracks are not visible on the added material bead, there may be internal cracks, and finishing with electrical discharge machining can sometimes accentuate these cracks. By utilizing waveform control functions instead of rectangular waves, we conducted trials with the belief that microcracks could be suppressed even when adding material to high-hardness materials. By understanding the mechanisms that lead to crack formation, we were able to identify which waveforms are effective, and by using the waveform control function, we successfully established a technique that prevents microcracks from occurring after laser welding or electrical discharge machining. [Effects and Benefits] ■ Significant reduction in man-hours (cost) ■ There are cases where 1 to 2 days' worth of man-hours (cost) can be saved *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationHere are some examples of the utilization of "T-LASER." In all areas, repair was being done with TIG welding, but there were issues such as poor durability when performing heat checks on the repaired areas, leading to cracks and bead detachment occurring quickly. Since TIG welding has a high heat input, it also results in significant residual stress, prompting us to focus on and test low heat input laser welding machines. In the case of repairs using TIG welding, the process involves (1) preparing the groove, (2) welding, and (3) finishing. With laser welding, by adjusting the energy density of the laser light, it is possible to perform the groove preparation (1) using the laser light's air strike for general heat checks, which helps reduce man-hours and mitigate the accumulation of stress from groove preparation. [Effects and Benefits] ■ Cracks occurred within the bead after 2000 shots, but production continued even after 4000 shots. ■ Improved welding quality has led to increased productivity and reduced man-hours (cost), resulting in significant benefits. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationHere are some examples of the use of "T-LASER." In the pin round hole area, thin burrs were occurring on the product side, which was consuming labor in the deburring process. We were performing buildup repairs with TIG welding, but there was a request to reduce the finishing labor because it was necessary to perform a large amount of buildup to improve the thin burrs and finish the product. By changing the wire size in laser welding, the amount of buildup can be adjusted to about t=0.1mm, allowing us to minimize the necessary buildup to stop the thin burrs, which significantly reduced the finishing labor. [Effects and Benefits] ■ Finishing labor was reduced to 1/5. ■ Perhaps due to the low residual stress of laser welding, the durability of the buildup repair areas improved. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationHere are some examples of the use of "T-LASER." When dents occur in machine parts, they are usually discarded and replaced with new ones. There was a concern that even with build-up repairs, shrinkage would occur, and the durability would be insufficient. Laser welding can effectively alloy the base material and welding material, and due to its low heat input, it can minimize residual stress, leading to testing. The build-up repair was completed without causing shrinkage. The adhesion is also good, allowing for production that is comparable to new products. [Effects and Benefits] ■ Successful cost reduction of 1/20 by using laser welding for regeneration repairs. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationHere are some examples of the use of "T-LASER." The demand for precision in build-up welding has increased, and while TIG welding is certainly one option, the laser welding machine we owned could not produce low output, so we had to remake parts. We conducted test processing with the hope that we could perform repair work using laser welding, which has stable low output. Since "T-LASER" has stable low output, we were able to weld a φ0.1mm wire beautifully. As a result, pinpoint build-up welding is now possible in necessary areas, allowing for repair work without the need to remake parts. [Effects and Benefits] By using build-up repair, we can reduce man-hours (within 0.5 to 1 hour for laser welding + finishing work) and the material costs of the parts themselves, achieving a cost reduction of about 1/10. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThe specifications for molds vary by type and industry, leading to different requirements for precision and delivery times for repairs. Therefore, it is necessary to propose models that match the workability and output range required by the customer. It should not happen that "the equipment we introduced does not meet our company's required workability" or "the materials or wire sizes we want to weld do not melt." For those considering starting laser welding for mold repair or thinking about making a purchase, we provide clear explanations of the selection criteria for laser welding machines from various perspectives, including extensive know-how and manufacturer comparisons. We also introduce case studies that reflect the challenges and responses when utilizing laser welding machines on-site, as well as real feedback from customers.
