Koh Pass Communications Inc. is a venture established by volunteers from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Utilizing the new optical communication technology called Dynamic Optical Path Network (DOPN), developed through the VICTORIES project at AIST, we are advancing the commercialization of this new optical communication technology and its derived technologies, which enable the bidirectional, zero-delay transmission of uncompressed optical signals between distant locations with ultra-low power consumption. "TeleSession" leverages DOPN as a platform to transmit 4K/8K ultra-high-definition video and high-quality audio in an uncompressed, zero-delay manner, allowing for real-time sharing as if through a "connecting window," aiming for applications in telemedicine and spatial sharing in distant music and theater halls. Additionally, the dark fiber network for DOPN can be used as a transmission path for high-capacity Ethernet. Our company focuses on three main pillars of business: building optical fiber network platforms, manufacturing and selling uncompressed optical transmission equipment for TeleSession, and producing and selling delay measurement units that can accurately measure the delay in video transmission.

Business Activities
■ We will construct and operate a dedicated optical fiber network (Dynamic Optical Path Network, DOPN) that allows for flexible connection changes via optical switches. This will serve as a platform for optical transmission. (Registered telecommunications operator: A-29-15915, Registration date: August 10, 2017) ■ Using DOPN as a platform, we will manufacture and sell various optical transmission and reception devices capable of bidirectional zero-latency transmission of 4K/8K video (tele-session). We will also provide media converters that convert dedicated optical fiber lines connecting two locations into high-capacity Ethernet lines, along with other peripheral devices. ■ We will manufacture and sell a video transmission delay measurement unit and its options. This unit is designed to accurately measure the video delay time of a system consisting of imaging, transmission, and display components. The flashing lamp (LED) of this unit is captured by the camera of the system being measured, and the flashing of the LED displayed on the monitor of the measured system is observed by the photodiode (PD) of this unit. The time difference between the signal applied to the LED lamp (trigger signal) and the flashing signal of the PD is measured using an oscilloscope controlled by a PC with dedicated software, allowing for automatic acquisition of delay time and data recording. We also offer options to simplify the measurement process.
