When it comes to heat exchangers, it was common knowledge that they were made of metal, but we developed a resin-based heat exchanger, G-HEX, through a NEDO project research and development. The 'G-HEX' has a low pressure loss in the flow path, with pressure loss being less than 1/10 compared to typical Φ500mm products, and an overwhelming heat exchange capacity that is five times greater, making it highly economical. It is made of polyethylene resin (PE100) with an estimated lifespan of over 50 years, ensuring long durability. It is resistant to corrosive water quality such as hot spring water, eliminating the need for rust prevention measures. Well water, agricultural water, spring water, hot spring water, seawater (seawater wells), and factory wastewater contain unused thermal energy (renewable energy). We have developed a heat exchange unit (G-HEX) through the NEDO project that can extract this energy and utilize it in a cascade for heating and cooling. G-HEX is a fully plastic heat exchanger made using polyethylene thin tubes, allowing it to accommodate various heat source waters. It is a long-lasting heat exchange unit that is resistant to corrosion and dirt.
