NASA is seeking compact point-of-care (POC) technologies that can be used for medical diagnosis, monitoring, and symptom treatment based on clinical laboratory analysis of biological samples (such as blood and urine). In future crewed space exploration, point-of-care medical diagnostic technologies that enable diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of medical conditions during spaceflight are considered to be an extremely important need. Typically, testing technologies in terrestrial clinical laboratories rely on large, heavy equipment that requires many different reagents and consumables. Future exploration missions deep into space will face more complex challenges, including limitations on mass, volume, power, and consumables, as well as the inability to transport samples back to Earth for analysis. Analyzing biological samples on-site in space using diagnostic devices with small mass, volume, and power consumption will enable continuous diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of astronauts' health conditions. The "Technology Acquisition and Technology Introduction Support Service" enables scouting in various fields such as SDGs, food materials, and packaging. We respond to companies' requests such as "I want to find startups with unique business models in the business areas we are involved in" or "I want to solve technical challenges we face through technology introduction and partnerships." During the service period, we will conduct research activities in three phases for a single project. Additionally, we will gather information on the compatibility of the organizations holding (developing) potential solutions with the company's requests, and then conduct further research based on that information.

We are looking for a smart device that detects when a cat uses the litter box and releases agents to mask, neutralize, or eliminate the odor of feces and urine. It needs to have a cat-friendly design that does not scare the cat with sprays or sounds. We envision various types of collaborations, including licensing, ownership, and acquisitions.
