A smart contact lens (SmCL) that incorporates various electronic components into the lens. Our company has released a platform with a "common architecture" that packages essential technologies for any purpose of SmCL lenses and the entire peripheral system needed to drive them. This platform provides a framework to drive SmCL development and create diverse business opportunities. We will formulate a concrete development process towards realization for ideas related to SmCL business, research and development, individual device implementation, applications, and housing introduction, and we can accommodate requests from planning proposals to prototype and productization levels (regulatory compliance such as medical device approval is subject to consultation). The "common architecture" includes a flexible substrate built into the lens, an LSI chip with a 1mm square size designed for low power operation to powerfully control RFID and built-in devices, a dedicated circuit board for communication with the lens, and a communication system for information terminals using Bluetooth® technology.
