■CM5 Equipped Industrial Raspberry Pi The PL-R5 is an industrial Raspberry Pi designed with stability, reliability, and expandability required in industrial settings. It is equipped with the CM5 (RPi5), resulting in a significant increase in processing speed compared to the previous PL-R4. With excellent vibration and shock resistance, noise immunity, a wide operating temperature range of -20 to 60°C, and effective cooling through a uniquely developed heat dissipation mechanism, it ensures high reliability even in harsh environments. The IP65 waterproof type is also suitable for outdoor use. The interface features newly implemented USB 3.0 ports and a single-pair Ethernet (SPE) port, with the option to add an AI accelerator to the expansion M.2 slot. It provides a more flexible and high-performance option for application development that leverages the capabilities of the CM5 for edge processing, image analysis, high-speed data communication, and next-generation smart factories and robotics. ■Board Supply Available for Embedded Applications The PL-R5 is also available in a board-only type without a casing. We can flexibly accommodate customers who prioritize design freedom for integration into custom enclosures, development for existing devices, or adoption in OEM products.

We will hold an exhibitor seminar at the Industrial Open Network Exhibition to be held on July 2nd (Aichi) and July 9th (Tokyo). We will introduce applications aimed at improving maintenance efficiency and reducing costs, such as fault symptom detection of equipment using industrial Raspberry Pi, remote connection to on-site devices, and RFID readers.
