PFAS refers to organic fluorine compounds that have excellent water-repellent, heat-resistant, and stain-resistant properties, and have been widely used in cooking utensils, clothing, and more. Their resistance to decomposition in the environment and tendency to accumulate in the human body and living organisms have raised concerns, leading to strengthened regulations both domestically and internationally, including those on PFOS and PFOA.
