Endoscope-specific MTF measurement device

In the manufacturing of medical endoscopes, reliable quality control of image quality is essential. With the new ImageMaster Endo PRO, all relevant measurement parameters can be automatically measured in a single measurement process. This enables efficient quality management in production, including the issuance of measurement certificates. This highly flexible system measures not only eyeballs with a C-mount camera adapter but also endoscopes. The software offers numerous features to automate the measurement process, making it independent of the operator. For continuous measurements of the same type of endoscope, the setup time is less than one minute. The measurement time for all standard measurement parameters is under three minutes, allowing for at least 12 endoscopes to be measured in one hour.

The lens optical axis is measured, and the optical axis is coaxially aligned with the rotation axis while performing core processing on the flange reference surface and outer diameter of the cell (housing). Since the cell lens is processed while aligning the optical axis, the optical axis of the lens and the axis of the cell become coaxial. In the ATS200, the lens cell arranged with a 4-axis alignment-capable collet chuck (XYθ) can achieve positioning within 0.1μm before and after energization, allowing for processing with minimal alignment time after measurement, resulting in a flatness of less than 0.2μm and a planarity of about 0.01μm after processing. Eccentricity measurement, outer diameter measurement, and lens height measurement are also included as standard functions, and selections can be made from the lineup based on the target diameter and other factors.

This device is based on an autocollimator, which installs the test prism on a high-precision air-bearing rotation stage. It reads the imaging of surface reflections using a high-sensitivity CCD camera, allowing for high-precision measurement of the prism apex angle. Therefore, it can measure small samples (1mm²) that could not be measured before due to weak rear reflections in transmission methods, without any issues. The autocorrelation image incorporates an image processing analysis device, so no special expertise is required for operation. The angle resolution of the autocollimator is 0.01 seconds, and the measurement accuracy of the top model, PM300HR, is the world's highest precision at 0.2 seconds. The software automatically performs reference surface alignment, apex angle measurement, and tilt error (deviation angle) analysis. It is ideal for evaluating triangular prisms, wedge prisms, pentaprisms, polygon mirrors, rutile crystal wedges, and more. Furthermore, all models comply with the German National Metrology Institute (PTB) to establish traceability, and the high-precision rotary encoder achieves this measurement accuracy through proprietary calibration control.
