Transfer molding is a method that differs from direct pressure molding, where materials are directly introduced during the opening and closing of the mold. This method is used when the shape of the product or the type of insert makes it difficult to mold using compression molding, or when precision and strict dimensional accuracy are required. Offset printing is a printing method in which ink on a plate is first transferred to a rubber transfer roller called a blanket (OFF), and then printed onto the material through that blanket (Set), meaning that the plate and the resin do not come into direct contact. At our company, after extruding and molding tubes like the one in the photo, we can perform 5-color offset printing. Clear coating and matte coating are also possible. In addition to offset printing, we also conduct silk printing, pad printing, and transfer printing in-house.

In the case of thermosetting resin parts, burrs are inevitably generated after molding, so burr removal is necessary. It is also possible to remove only the burrs by projecting special beads onto the resin parts with attached burrs using a fully automatic burr processing machine called a deflasher (blast). There are different types of deflashers, such as apron type, drum type, and conveyor type, and the method of burr processing varies depending on the product.

Q: How can using wood powder plastic contribute to the SDGs? A: Regular resin products are treated as industrial waste. The biomass plastic (the material in question) in products that contain more than 10% is allowed to display a logo mark by the Japan Organic Resources Association (JORA). Additionally, products with a content rate of over 50% can be disposed of as regular waste. In our prototypes, we have successfully increased the content rate to 70% for molding. Q: What is the source of the wood powder used? A: We use powdered thinned wood.

Q. How do you achieve products made in Vietnam with Japanese quality? A. We have a training system for Vietnamese staff at our headquarters in Osaka, which helps improve the technical skills of our factory in Ho Chi Minh City by honing injection molding skills in Japan.
