As part of its environmentally conscious initiatives, the Sumitomo Chemical Group is considering reuse methods for acrylic sheets and is actively working towards achieving a sustainable resource circulation cycle. This time, we have added new color variations to our recycled acrylic resin extruded sheets. Three new colors have been added to the matte finish acrylic sheets. These new colors, called "Transparent Matte," "White Matte," and "Black Matte," are attracting attention as materials that combine design and practicality. Recycled acrylic sheets use materials regenerated from waste, reducing environmental impact by promoting sustainable resource use. They are suitable for a wide range of applications, including displays, interiors, and building materials. Transparent Matte softens and diffuses light while maintaining transparency. White Matte offers a clean appearance and excellent anti-reflective properties. Black Matte creates a sense of luxury and a heavy atmosphere. With the addition of these new colors, a wide range of options is provided to meet various design needs.

In the Yuriage area of Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture, a seawall has been constructed. This area suffered significant damage during the Great East Japan Earthquake, and recovery has been slow, but the installation of the seawall is expected to enhance the safety of the region. The construction of the seawall is an important measure to protect the area from flood damage caused by earthquakes and tsunamis. In the Yuriage area, a seawall equipped with acrylic windows has been built around the selected port area. The seawall features acrylic windows that are 30mm thick, 1000mm high, and 2500mm wide. The installation of the seawall involved the use of specialized equipment and materials, including acrylic windows, and optimal design and construction methods were considered after prior discussions and trial and error. We would like to introduce the double-sided anti-reflective acrylic sheet 'SAS AR000-F (Clear)', which is laminated with an anti-reflective film developed using the latest technology. This product effectively suppresses external light reflection and glare by laminating a special anti-reflective film on both sides of the acrylic extruded sheet. The acrylic sheet with anti-reflective properties can be cleaned with alcohol, allowing it to be used while maintaining cleanliness. Due to this feature, it is suitable for various applications such as splash prevention partitions, picture frames, and display cases. The surface of the product is treated with a hard coat finish on the film, providing durability that makes it resistant to scratches.
