● The NFC/RFID system, which is a global standard, is being adopted in transportation-related contactless IC cards and electronic money, expanding convenience. ● From card form factors to system-compatible mobile phones and smart devices, small mobile electronic devices are equipped with reader/writer (R/W) functions, enabling the active use of inexpensive NFC tags. ● As a result, everything and everywhere can connect to internet services, allowing even white goods and healthcare devices without network connectivity to connect to the internet through smartphones and start collaborating with various cloud services. ● The biggest advantage is that the system can be built without placing a special burden on stores or users. ● On the other hand, when incorporating into small mobile electronic devices, it is inevitably necessary to be close to metals such as printed circuit boards, so a method is employed that has a magnetic shielding effect between the metal surface substrate and the tag antenna, while also placing low-loss soft magnetic materials. ● This allows the incident magnetic flux to pass through the layer of high permeability material and return from the end face, enabling communication even when an RF tag is attached to a metal surface.
