Our company was established in September 1963 as a joint venture between JGC Corporation and UOP LLC in the United States, with the initial purpose of manufacturing and selling platinum catalysts used in petroleum refining equipment, as well as recovering platinum from used platinum catalysts. Subsequently, we introduced various technologies developed by UOP across a wide range of fields and began sales related to UOP's petroleum refining and petrochemical processes in 1969. In recent years, alongside the development of our own technologies, we have continuously responded to the demands of the times by providing technologies and products that enable more efficient use of limited petroleum resources, pollution prevention technologies such as air pollution control, automotive exhaust treatment catalysts, and environmental purification catalysts used for environmental improvement, all with the goal of creating a better living environment.
