The largest domestic sweet potato sorting facility's traceability system is now available in a video.

Japan Distribution Management Support Organization Co., Ltd. released a video on February 7 (Wednesday) introducing a service case of the traceability system for export sweet potatoes provided at the shipping facility in Tomakomai, which is one of the largest sorting facilities for sweet potatoes in Japan since 2022.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries aims to increase the export value of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and food to 2 trillion yen by 2025 and 5 trillion yen by 2030, and is implementing measures to expand exports. However, there are challenges such as significant costs incurred domestically due to complaints from export destinations that cannot identify the causes.
Our traceability system, "Agriculture and Fisheries Traceability," digitizes information about producers and others simply by passing it through a conveyor, contributing to the identification of causes of spoilage and trouble resolution at the export destination.
