What is vacuum forming?

Vacuum forming is a method of processing sheets made of thermoplastic resin (a type of resin that softens and becomes pliable when heated to a suitable temperature and solidifies upon cooling) by heating and softening the sheet, then deforming it under vacuum pressure (removing air through fine holes in the mold to create a vacuum) and cooling it to produce the molded product. The main types of forming methods include:
1. Straight vacuum forming
2. Drape vacuum forming
3. Plug assist vacuum forming
4. Direct heating pressure forming
5. Air slip vacuum forming
