We conducted an interview with ISS Yamazaki Machinery Co., Ltd. (formerly known as Yamazaki Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.), which has introduced the automatic dilution supply device for cutting fluid "Raku-Ranto" handled by Komatsu Steel Co., Ltd. At the company, the equipment frequently stopped for replenishing cutting fluid for machining. The combined task of diluting and replenishing cutting fluid took about 30 minutes each time, resulting in a waste of 450 minutes, or 7.5 hours, per day. Although it is a job that anyone can do, someone had to do it. After the introduction, the purchase cost of cutting oil decreased by about 20%, amounting to approximately 1 million yen per year. In addition, they have realized "unmanned continuous processing" by combining various automation devices, including a device for compressing chips, temperature management, and of course, devices for retrieving from lathes and storing in shelves using stacker cranes.
