Significant productivity improvement confirmed with a 25-day reduction in shipping age at a pig farm in Shizuoka Prefecture utilizing the radiation cooling material "SPACECOOL."

Our company and Ikunam Research Institute, with technical support from the Shizuoka Prefectural Livestock Technology Research Institute's Small Livestock Research Center, have confirmed significant economic benefits by installing the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL" on the roofs of pig barns owned by pig farmers in Shizuoka Prefecture, resulting in a reduction of the shipping age of fattening pigs by nearly one month (25 days).
▼ Temperature Measurement Results
- Measurement Period: August 2024
- Outside Temperature: Maximum 32.9℃, Minimum 25.9℃
- Surface Temperature Comparison: Uninstalled Area 67.1℃ → Installed Area 33.4℃ (Confirmed a temperature difference of over -33℃)
▼ Reduction in Shipping Age of Pigs with SPACECOOL
Pig barns with SPACECOOL installed saw a significant reduction in heat influx from the roof during the summer, leading to a 25-day reduction in the shipping age of pigs compared to conventional barns.
▼ Economic Value for Livestock Farmers
300 pigs/month × 49,000 yen/pig (assuming carcass price of 700 yen/kg × 70kg/pig) × (25 days/30 days) = 12,250,000 yen
