Confirmed the cooling load reduction effect of SPACECOOL through a joint demonstration test with the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation, reducing the electricity consumption of the office and contributing to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.

SPACECOOL Co., Ltd. conducted a demonstration test last year in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation and Longseal Industrial Co., Ltd. at the Shinagawa Motor Vehicle Office of the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation, aimed at reducing air conditioning energy consumption. In this experiment, SPACECOOL waterproof sheets (currently known as Innovation Proof RR), utilizing our radiative cooling materials, were installed on the rooftop of the building, confirming a maximum reduction effect of 8.7% and an average of 7.8% in the electricity consumption of the office.
Demonstration Test Results
By comparing the electricity consumption of the motor vehicle office in fiscal years 2023 and 2024 and calculating the reduction rate, it was confirmed that the installation of the SC sheet resulted in a maximum reduction of 8.7% and an average reduction of 7.8% in electricity consumption during the summer months. It is inferred that there was almost no impact from external temperatures on electricity consumption, as there was no significant difference in the average temperature in Tokyo between the two years.
We believe that confirming the energy-saving effects of SPACECOOL on buildings, with the cooperation of the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation, further supports SPACECOOL's carbon neutrality. We will continue to promote the expansion of SPACECOOL, particularly in the building sector, contributing to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
