Radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL Magnet Sheet"

Empowered by SPACECOOL, the "SPACECOOL Roof Shade" has been adopted at the governor station, a gas supply facility of Hokkaido Gas Co., Ltd., to ensure the stable operation of gas pipes within the building. This initiative aims to improve the preservation environment of equipment, including gas pipes, by suppressing temperature rises during the summer. Notably, this is the first adoption of the SPACECOOL Roof Shade in Hokkaido. In 2024, Hokkaido Gas will introduce the new material "SPACECOOL," developed and sold by our company, for approximately 350 outdoor remote monitoring control panels installed at the governor station. This aims to prevent thermal issues with precision equipment and avoid high-temperature alerts through zero-energy cooling. As a result, the objectives were achieved under high-temperature conditions in summer, maintaining stable operations. Based on these results, discussions are underway for the adoption of SPACECOOL in other facilities of Hokkaido Gas. Consequently, to reduce the risk of deterioration of equipment such as gas pipes through overall heat shielding of the building, the "SPACECOOL Roof Shade," which can be installed on a standing seam metal roof, has been adopted to suppress temperature rises within the building.

SPACECOOL Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of the eight finalists in The Liveability Challenge 2026, hosted by the Temasek Foundation and operated by Eco-Business. The Liveability Challenge (TLC) is a global initiative that evaluates innovative solutions to urgent sustainability challenges in urban tropical regions. This year, under the themes of "Decarbonisation" and "Cool Earth," there were over 1,500 submissions from more than 100 countries, the highest number to date. Our company was the only Japanese firm selected as a finalist and received recognition in the Cool Earth category, which focuses on addressing extreme weather events related to climate change. We will present at the Grand Final, which will be held on May 20, 2026, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, where we will participate in the final pitch.

SPACECOOL Inc., which researches, develops, and sells the radiation cooling material "SPACECOOL" that releases heat into space to achieve zero-energy cooling, will exhibit at the "Jumbo Surprise Exhibition," a comprehensive trade fair for electrical materials and housing equipment, held at Tokyo Big Sight from April 17 (Friday) to April 18 (Saturday), 2026, and at Intex Osaka from April 24 (Friday) to April 25 (Saturday), 2026. This material is a new technology that enables zero-energy cooling by converting heat into infrared radiation and releasing it into space, without using any external power. By implementing it in outdoor air conditioning units and outdoor electrical equipment, it helps suppress internal temperature rises, contributing to stable operation of devices and reduction of air conditioning energy consumption, and is being recognized as a new carbon-neutral technology.
