Radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL Magnet Sheet"

SPACECOOL Co., Ltd. donated tents made with the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL," which was sponsored for operation at the 2025 World Expo in Japan, to Nara Women's University Attached Elementary School, and parasols to Nara Women's University. SPACECOOL is a new material developed and sold by our company that achieves zero-energy cooling by releasing heat into space. At the Osaka-Kansai Expo, we provided SPACECOOL tents and SPACECOOL parasols, made with the same material, as a sponsorship to help prevent heat-related illnesses for visitors and staff. On the other hand, a report from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology indicates that due to recent extreme heat, 2,960 cases of heat-related illnesses were confirmed during school management and commuting in the fiscal year 2024. In order to pass on the legacy of the Osaka-Kansai Expo to the next generation and contribute to creating an environment where people can engage in more comfortable outdoor activities, we have donated SPACECOOL tents to Nara Women's University Attached Elementary School and SPACECOOL parasols to Nara Women's University. Moving forward, we will continue to strive to promote SPACECOOL in educational settings to help create a safe learning environment where students, parents, and faculty can focus on education with peace of mind.

SPACECOOL Inc. will exhibit at the "MALAYSIA–JAPAN ENVIRONMENT WEEK 2025 (EW2025MY)" to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 15 (Wednesday) to 17 (Friday), 2025. This event is an international environmental exhibition and conference held under the collaboration of the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change of Malaysia, focusing on the themes of decarbonization, circular economy, and climate adaptation for both countries. On October 4, 2025 (Saturday), during the "International Forum on Promoting the Utilization of Intellectual Property for SDGs" held at the Theme Week Studio within the Osaka-Kansai Expo, the award ceremony for the "EXPO2025 JPO-WIPO AWARD" took place, and SPACECOOL Inc. was awarded in the climate change category. The EXPO2025 JPO-WIPO AWARD is a prize established exclusively for this occasion in collaboration with the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. It recognizes companies that effectively utilize intellectual property to solve social issues and work collaboratively in the fields of climate change, women's participation, and youth engagement to design a better future society. The award consists of three categories: "Climate Change," "Promotion of Women's Participation," and "Promotion of Youth Engagement," with a total of five companies receiving awards. Our CEO, Masahiro Suemitsu, also took the stage. He received a certificate and medal from Darren Tan and delivered a speech expressing his joy at receiving the award, as well as discussing SPACECOOL's journey so far and the ideal role of intellectual property.

SPACECOOL Inc. will participate in the startup pitch at the online event "Disaster Prevention Tech Startup Conference 2025" to be held on Thursday, October 30, where it will present the potential of the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL" from a disaster prevention perspective. About the Disaster Prevention Tech Startup Conference 2025 Japan is a disaster-prone country, frequently experiencing disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and heavy snowfall, and the probability of disasters that significantly impact our lives, such as the Nankai Trough earthquake, is increasing. From the standpoint of being a disaster-prone country, many Japanese startups have emerged, collaborating with local governments, private companies, and research institutions to tackle disaster prevention using cutting-edge technologies and ideas. Furthermore, there is a growing global demand for Japan's disaster prevention know-how and technology, and Japanese startups are actively working to meet this demand. At this conference, our Director and CSO, Takushi Hojuyama, will present on the cutting-edge technology of zero-energy cooling that does not use electricity, discussing the potential of the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL" in the field of disaster prevention.
