SPACECOOL Co., Ltd., which develops and sells the radiation cooling material "SPACECOOL" that radiates heat into space and performs zero-energy cooling, announces that Kyusei Beverage Industry Co., Ltd., which engages in OEM of soft drinks, has introduced the "SPACECOOL Roof Shade" to improve the working environment in its factory and address the issue of rising equipment temperatures. Kyusei Beverage has faced urgent challenges due to increased electricity usage associated with the expansion of equipment and factory size, as well as the deterioration of the working environment caused by extreme heat. Although various conventional measures were implemented, they achieved only limited effectiveness and did not lead to dramatic improvements, prompting the search for fundamental solutions. In this context, after testing the SPACECOOL film on a prefabricated storage facility, it was confirmed that the rise in roof surface and indoor temperatures was suppressed, demonstrating a high heat shielding effect. This led to the full-scale adoption of the SPACECOOL Roof Shade on the factory roof. In addition to its application on the factory roof, expansion to various equipment such as air conditioning outdoor units, outdoor cubicles, and outdoor control panels is also being pursued.

We are pleased to announce that our waterproof sheet "Innovation Proof RR," integrated with our radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL," has been introduced in two elementary schools in Setagaya, Tokyo. In recent years, the severe heat during summer has worsened the environment in schools. A report by UNICEF points out that high temperatures may affect school attendance rates and children's concentration. Additionally, in Japan, there have been many cases of heatstroke occurring during physical education and sports activities under school management, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has reported that school sports activities are closely related to children's heat exposure risks. Furthermore, the heatstroke prevention guidelines for school sports specify criteria for exercise implementation based on the WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature), indicating that specialized management is necessary for activities in hot environments. The "SPACECOOL Umbrella Type 2," which achieves a top-level heat shielding rate of 80% and is sold by SPACECOOL Co., Ltd., will be featured at the "Hanshin Umbrella Festival 2026" held at the Hanshin Umeda Main Store from June 17 (Wednesday) to June 22 (Monday) at the booth of White Rose Co., Ltd. The "Hanshin Umbrella Festival 2026," showcasing approximately 12,000 umbrellas, is a regular event at the Hanshin Umeda Main Store that brings together various umbrella brands from both Japan and abroad. At the venue, visitors can actually handle and purchase the "SPACECOOL Umbrella Type 2," which has just started selling today at the SPACECOOL Consumer Products Lab online shop in celebration of "Umbrella Day." The SPACECOOL Umbrella Type 2 is characterized by its effectiveness measured in actual outdoor environments. In a well-lit outdoor setting in May, thermal camera footage showed that the surface temperature of the SPACECOOL Umbrella Type 2 fabric and the temperature at the user's crown were the lowest, with the crown temperature being about 6°C lower compared to when not using an umbrella. It should be noted that the actual perceived temperature can vary depending on external factors such as temperature, humidity, and wind speed.
