A new molding method that does not use the autoclave method.

As lightweight materials such as CFRP and GFRP, FRP continues to be expected as a next-generation structural material. In this research, we successfully devised and prototyped a groundbreaking molding method that replaces the role of gas in an autoclave with thermally expandable microcapsules, making it simple and not limited by volume. We attempted a new FRP molding method that does not use an autoclave, utilizing the thermally expandable microcapsules discovered in this research, and achieved favorable results. In addition to cost reduction, the absence of volume restrictions allows for applications in ultra-large molded products that were previously unimaginable, thus expanding the range of applications.
