2030 Riyadh Expo officially receives the BIE flag, gearing up for the next Expo.
Osaka, October 14, 2025 - (JCN Newswire) - The 2030 Riyadh Expo officially received the flag from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, which concluded a six-month global exhibition, dialogue, and cultural exchange. The handover of the BIE flag, received by Ibrahim Al-Sultan, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, signifies the formal transfer of responsibility as the host city to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking a new beginning for the next expo.
Minister Al-Sultan stated, "As we conclude the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, the handover of the flag from Japan to Riyadh will be an important milestone on the Kingdom's journey to welcoming the world at the 2030 Riyadh Expo. At the same time, it signifies the official countdown to the largest expo in history, held on an unprecedented scale and content."
The 2030 Riyadh Expo is scheduled to take place from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, expecting 42 million visitors and participation from 197 countries and 29 international organizations.
