~What was happening inside asteroid Ryugu? Water and organic matter revealed by synchrotron radiation~
The asteroid Ryugu, brought back by the Hayabusa2 spacecraft, has been found to be rich in organic matter and water, similar to carbonaceous chondrite meteorites discovered on Earth, and it has a surprisingly similar chemical composition to the Sun.
In this webinar, we will introduce how cutting-edge analytical techniques using synchrotron radiation can "visualize" traces of water that once flowed inside Ryugu and the organic matter that developed in that environment and still remains today.
How did water and organic matter coexist, and what transformations have they undergone? We will present the latest findings that approach the early solar system environment and the origins of life.
