About a month ago, I took the Sanyo Electric Railway to the Hanshin Electric Railway express train from Himeji to Osaka on a Sunday. The important point here is that it was a "Sunday." The decisive difference from usual days is that there were "families" on board. I had somewhat anticipated this, but nowadays, almost 100% of parents are completely absorbed in their smartphones, ignoring their children who might be standing behind the driver's seat, shouting, or doing anything else. In fact, they even hand another smartphone to their child, effectively using it as a babysitter.
