We will explain, along with examples, high-speed calculations using non-spherical particles and coupling analyses with ANSYS tools. The prediction of powder behavior is increasingly in demand in the production technology sectors of many industries, including mining, civil engineering, food, and healthcare. There are many technical challenges, such as methods for modeling particle shapes, the number of particles that can be handled, reduction of computation time, and coupling with simulations from other fields. The general-purpose powder analysis tool "Rocky DEM" provides the latest discrete element method technology that can broadly meet the analysis needs in design fields through high-precision modeling of non-spherical particles, high-speed calculations using GPUs, and coupling analyses with ANSYS tools.
