■NTT East Chiba Implements IC Tags for Tool Management to Prevent Forgetting
- NTT East Japan's Chiba division has introduced a system to manage tools carried by construction workers using IC tags (electronic tags) and wireless technology at all service centers responsible for repairing communication equipment (a total of 7 locations). Previously, human errors such as forgetting tools were managed manually, but the new system automates everything. This is expected to reduce the burden on the field and improve overall workplace productivity by streamlining management tasks.
- In the new system, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) IC tags from the electronic equipment manufacturer Miyakawa Seisakusho (Tokyo, Meguro) are attached to all tools, and information is read at gates installed within the workplace. By comparing the information for each entry and exit, the system can prevent forgetting tools.
