A new EMC testing facility equipped with a large equipment electromagnetic wave anechoic chamber has started operations within UL Japan's Ise headquarters in Ise City, Mie Prefecture. <Acceleration of Electrification in the Construction Machinery Industry> To improve on-site safety and address labor shortages, the introduction of ICT and electrification in construction machinery is progressing. As construction machines are increasingly equipped with numerous electronic components, the importance of EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing is rising to prevent accidents caused by electromagnetic noise and interference. <Enforcement of Standards Related to Construction Machinery> In 2021, the enforcement of the latest standards for construction machinery, "EN ISO 13766-1, 2:2018," is scheduled. This enforcement will expand the upper frequency limit for radiated immunity and require electromagnetic wave exposure to the construction machinery body. In Europe, a standard transition is planned for 2021, and compliance with the latest standards will be necessary when launching products.
