Hard chrome plating has excellent hardness with a hardness value of HV750 to 900, but it has the issue of cracks (fine fissures) in the coating, which means that no matter how much the surface is polished to a mirror finish, the cracks can transfer to the product. Our company has long had the technology for a non-crack chrome plating called "Cloamore." The hardness can reach up to HV1800 through heat treatment at temperatures between 200°C and 600°C, and due to being crack-free, it has excellent corrosion resistance. However, since the coating can only be applied as a thin film with a thickness of up to 5μ, it has not been applicable to mirror surface rolls until now. However, we have developed a "Super Mirror Crack-Free Roll" that solves these problems by forming a special two-layer structure. 【Features and Effects】 ■ Achieves a super mirror crack-free surface with a roughness of Ry0.05 or less. ■ Since Cloamore is on the outermost layer, it has a hardness of about HV1200, which is approximately 1.5 times that of hard chrome plating, making it less prone to scratches due to its excellent wear resistance. ■ Being crack-free enhances corrosion resistance and reduces resin accumulation on the roll surface. It is possible to consistently produce heat transfer circulation rolls, which are essential for film manufacturing and lamination processing lines, from iron core production to surface treatment.

A preheating and cooling roll is a roll that manages the surface temperature by circulating a heat medium such as water or oil inside the roll, serving the purpose of heating or cooling substrates like films and sheets. There are different internal structures, including single-tube type, double-tube type, and triple-tube type. The single-tube type has a hollow interior, and depending on whether the inlet and outlet are the same or different, it uses either a single or double rotary joint. While the single-tube type is cheaper to manufacture due to its simple structure, it has the drawback that as the roll size increases, it requires more heat medium for preheating and cooling, and the heat medium tends to stagnate, leading to uneven surface temperatures. The double-tube and triple-tube types have an internal tube placed inside the outer cylindrical pipe of the roll, allowing the heat medium to flow through the gaps between the pipes. This structure can limit the amount of heat medium to the flow paths, and since the heat medium flows through the gap between the outer and inner tubes, it can efficiently preheat and cool with less variation in surface temperature. If the inlet and outlet are different, it is structured as a double-tube type; if they are the same, it is structured as a triple-tube type.
