Hard chrome plating has excellent hardness with a hardness value of HV750 to 900, but it has the issue of cracks (fine fissures) in the coating, which means that no matter how much the surface is polished to a mirror finish, the cracks can transfer to the product. Our company has long had the technology for a non-crack chrome plating called "Cloamore." The hardness can reach up to HV1800 through heat treatment at temperatures of 200 to 600°C, and because it is non-crack, it also has excellent corrosion resistance. However, due to the limitation of being able to apply only a thin film with a thickness of up to 5μ, it has not been possible to apply it to mirror rolls until now. However, we have developed a technology for "super mirror crack-free rolls" that solves these problems by forming a special two-layer structure.
