Technical Report: Water Temperature, Amount of Dissolved Air in Water, Oxygen Concentration
The figure shows the relationship between the amount of air concentration that dissolves in water and the corresponding amount of oxygen concentration with respect to water temperature.
Typically, the oxygen concentration is expressed as the dissolved oxygen concentration (DO value), represented by the weight of oxygen (mg) dissolved in 1 liter of water (mg O2/L = ppm). The figure shows the concentration of dissolved oxygen as a line graph and the volume of dissolved air as a bar graph (converted for water temperature and at 0°C). The actual air volume (bubble volume) is larger because water vapor corresponding to the vapor pressure exists within the bubbles.

basic information
**Features** - The amount of gas that dissolves in a liquid is proportional to the pressure. The values shown are at atmospheric pressure (101.2 kPa), and since normal water supply (pure water supply systems, tap water, etc.) is under pressure, the amount of dissolution is even higher. - Gases dissolved in water can easily form bubbles due to changes in pressure or temperature. - When bubbles enter a liquid delivery pump, they hinder normal quantitative delivery. Additionally, in optical detectors, they can cause various inhibiting factors. - In general piping, bubbles can accumulate, and in places where bubbles form and adhere, the progression of corrosion in the piping can accelerate. - To prevent various issues caused by bubbles, "defoaming" is performed to remove bubbles from the liquid. However, defoaming that only removes bubbles does not eliminate the gases dissolved in the liquid, so dissolved gases can easily turn into bubbles, making stable effects difficult to achieve. - Dissolved gases that do not form bubbles remain dissolved and can have various impacts on the inherent properties of the liquid. - An online method for degassing dissolved gases in a liquid prevents the formation of bubbles in advance.
