VI-Driver allows for the accurate evaluation of a vehicle's dynamic behavior by driving a virtual vehicle model through various operations.
Using detailed vehicle models is a prerequisite for obtaining accurate results, but it is not sufficient on its own. Vehicle models require precise physical driver models. This allows simulations to be conducted under conditions as close as possible to those on a test course. VI-Driver is the best commercially available driver model. It has been validated in numerous projects carried out by major OEMs and top racing teams in the global automotive industry. - State-of-the-art controllers for longitudinal and lateral control - Robust and precise path-following algorithms - Advanced management of all driver channels (steering, throttle, clutch, brake, and gear) Another significant feature is that VI-Driver can be used across a comprehensive set of tools, from concept to detailed design for Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop development.

basic information
VI-grade's simulation technology supports the development of increasingly complex integrated systems. Vehicle equipment is realized using a high-speed multi-body symbol simulator, which is equipped with highly accurate suspension, tire, aerodynamic elements, and powertrain components. Additionally, the road surface and driveline profiles can be defined using all critical characteristics, including irregularly distributed bumps, curbs, and holes. The driver model is intelligent, automatically iterating multiple times over determined segments of the road surface, adjusting the target line to follow, and modifying its operating mode to ensure the vehicle does not deviate from the road surface, thereby revealing the limits of the vehicle. Vehicle systems can be equipped with all necessary closed-loop controllers and can simulate the desired behavior by combining existing and externally connectable controller models using offline and online simulation technologies that also support Hardware-in-the-Loop testing.

Applications/Examples of results
<Success Case 1> AUDI is using VI-Driver in conjunction with VI-CarRealTime to evaluate changes in the dynamic behavior of vehicles due to various control systems. VI-Driver is used to drive vehicle models in various tests, including sudden maneuvers and lap time simulations. <Success Case 2> BMW has recently introduced an environment where VI-Driver is used as the sole driver model across all of the company's vehicle models, applying it in diverse fields such as handling, durability, control system design, Hardware-in-the-Loop, and custom driving simulators. BMW is driving real-time MATLAB-based vehicle models with VI-Driver, achieving consistent results even when the modeling environments differ.
