High-precision etching of a proprietary Ni-clad material for encoder scales. The shapes are linear scales and disc disks (i.e., rotary slit plates).
The hybrid etching specification refers to the etching processing of nickel-clad materials developed for industrial encoders. By integrating electroforming with etching in a hybrid process, we produce high-precision scales. This achieves dimensions and accuracy that were impossible with conventional etching processes. The shapes include linear scales and disk discs (i.e., rotary slit plates). There are transmissive and reflective types available. The resolution options include 180 LPI, 300 LPI, 360 LPI, etc. For more details, please download the PDF materials or contact us directly.

basic information
【Technical Features】 ● High-precision and high-accuracy etching processing is possible to enhance precision with a nickel layer. ● Due to the three-layer structure, etching can be performed on each metal layer, allowing for precise finishing of the opening difference between the upper and lower layers. ● Slit error is within a maximum of 0.008 on the same circumference. ● Pitch tolerance is within ±0.003, and roundness is within ±0.01. ● High contrast between reflective and non-reflective areas. ● Less susceptible to humidity compared to film products. ● Reflective area is over 60%, and non-reflective area is below 10%. ● Minimum slit width of 0.035 is possible. ■□■ For more details, please request materials or refer to the catalog ■□■

Meltec Co., Ltd. manufactures high value-added thin plate precision parts using photo-etching and composite processing. Photo-etching involves precision etching using unique materials from SUS metals, and it accommodates a wide range of technologies from special materials like molybdenum to curved shapes. Composite processing for etching includes consistent handling of plating, blackening treatment, injection molding, bending processing, spot welding, and more. We also manufacture various scales for encoders on a made-to-order basis. Our headquarters factory is located in Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture, and we have overseas factories in China, the Philippines, and Thailand.
