Reducing annual CO₂ emissions from 2,385 tons - Achieving environmental consideration and sustainable production through the introduction of renewable energy!

The annual CO₂ emissions amount to 2,385t-CO₂ (of which 2,020t comes from electricity) have been visualized, and the introduction of renewable energy has been implemented at the Tochigi factory. By converting approximately 1,150,000 kWh of electricity to renewable energy, it is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by about 650t. This corresponds to a 32% reduction in Scope 2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 300 cars per year. At the Tochigi factory, all production items, including main products, have their manufacturing electricity fully converted to renewable energy. In the future, the introduction of renewable energy is also being considered at the Nara headquarters. Furthermore, the calculation of CO₂ emissions has been completed, including fuel factors such as kerosene, light oil, gasoline, and gas (Scope 1). In order to build a sustainable production system, we are also working on reviewing the energy composition and improving the emission intensity per product. We are promoting initiatives that integrate technology, on-site operations, and management as practical examples that can contribute to building trust with markets and business partners that demand environmental responsiveness, as well as to supply chain evaluations.
