【Purpose of the Course】 Extrusion molding is the foundation of plastic molding. The molded products vary widely, including films, sheets, pipes, hoses, tubes, specially shaped extrusions for civil engineering and construction materials, and foam sheets. Additionally, extrusion molding is applied in the forming of parisons in blow molding. The characteristics required for molded products are diverse, and resin compounding is conducted to achieve these characteristics. Co-extrusion molding is applied as a means to this end. In the first half of this seminar, the basics of extrusion molding and the extrusion techniques for various products will be introduced. The second half will discuss co-extrusion technology in films, sheets, and blow molding, as well as the characteristics and applications of co-extruded products.
