【Purpose of the Course】 Extrusion molding is the foundation of plastic molding. The molded products vary widely, including films, sheets, pipes, hoses, tubes, specially shaped extrusions for civil engineering and construction materials, and foam sheets. Additionally, extrusion molding is applied in the forming of parisons in blow molding. The characteristics required for molded products are diverse, and resin compounding is conducted to achieve these characteristics. Co-extrusion molding is applied as a means to this end. In the first half of this seminar, the basics of extrusion molding and the extrusion techniques for various products will be introduced. **Lecture Summary** This lecture will explain the application of Excel in distillation technology calculations. By using Excel's Goal Seek, one can obtain solutions to equations without creating any programs. This will be utilized for boiling point calculations in vapor-liquid equilibrium calculations. It will also be used to solve state equations to determine the compressibility factor of real gases. In distillation technology calculations, many empirical formulas are used, and Excel provides functions for the least squares method, making it easy to determine these empirical formulas. Furthermore, by using matrix operation functions, it is possible to solve simultaneous equations, allowing for the determination of coefficients for empirical formulas of second degree or higher. Excel has a convenient feature called macro recording. By using this, one can record operations to obtain various solutions and create macros (VBA). By modifying these macros, the efficiency of distillation technology calculations can be dramatically increased. Knowing how to utilize Excel's features can make a significant difference.

However, the reality is that current products are made from petroleum, and despite containing a large amount of moisture after use, many of them are incinerated. If superabsorbent polymers could be made from natural materials that are renewable resources and could also be endowed with biodegradability, it is expected that various issues could be resolved. This is an air leak tester for battery cases of electric vehicles (EVs). The battery case has the characteristic of being "large with a significant internal volume, and its structure may deform due to internal pressure." As a result, air leak testing generates "noise caused by its large size and capacity" and "noise caused by expansion or deformation due to internal pressurization." To mitigate this noise, this device features a newly developed smoothing function and a linear fitting correction function used in combination during measurement. Additionally, to achieve low-pressure control that is difficult to manage and to expand flow for large volumes, we provide a bypass box (CBU-600) equipped with an electro-pneumatic regulator for precise pressure control and a pressurization valve with a large effective diameter to supply high flow rates.
