Thermal Spray Processing Glossary
● Spray particles Spray materials flying in a molten or near-molten state. ● Spray coating A coating formed by spraying. ● Bonding coat A coating formed to improve the adhesion of the spray coating. ● Inter-particle bonding degree The degree of bonding between the particles that make up the spray coating. ● Mechanical interlocking effect The function of improving the adhesion between the coating and the substrate by mechanically interlocking the spray particles with the rough surface of the substrate. ● Alloy layer An alloy layer generated at the boundary between the spray coating and the substrate due to spraying or subsequent heat treatment. ● Adhesion amount The mass of the spray coating formed per unit area. ● Adhesion rate The mass ratio of the spray material actually used to the mass of the spray coating that actually adhered. ● Adhesion property The state in which the spray coating is bonded to the material. ● Intermediate layer A coating formed between the undercoat and the topcoat. ● Topcoat The uppermost layer of a coating when forming a spray coating of two or more layers. ● Welded metal A self-fusing alloy coating that has adhered to the substrate through post-spray re-melting treatment. ● Diffusion penetration layer A layer formed by the mutual diffusion of the component elements of the spray coating and the substrate due to post-spray re-melting treatment.

Company information
Our company specializes in surface modification technologies that are not commonly heard of, such as "thermal spraying" and "ceramic laser engraving." Thermal spraying is one of the special techniques used across a range of industries, from low-tech sectors like kitchenware to high-tech industries such as aerospace. We were founded in 1950 with the aim of engine regeneration (engine boring) for automobiles and motorcycles, and we have consistently operated with the goal of being "the only one in a niche market" up to the present day.
