For various reasons, it is difficult to produce long films, so they are divided into multiple tapes, which are then wound onto a single core. This reduces the need for chucking in later production processes. Example: I want 100 meters of 1.5 mm wide tape. ⇒ A 1.5 mm wide micro-slit is too narrow, and if wound alone, there is a concern about it unraveling. ⇒ Instead, five rows of 1.5 mm wide tape are arranged and wound 20 meters each, ensuring stability in handling and protecting against core crushing. ⇒ Since five rolls are wound onto a single core, chucking in later production processes can be done in one go.
