This is a stretchable lurex yarn created by the collaboration of technology from Hokuriku and tradition from Kyoto.
GEORTEX MAITEL is a product that processes JOETEX SLENDER with special twisted yarn from the Hokuriku region, finishing it as a stretchable lurex yarn. The technology that ensures the luster of the lurex remains unchanged even after stretching and returning has been highly praised, receiving coverage from various newspapers and consistently attracting attention at exhibitions. The elasticity is achieved through the twisting with "MAITEL," created by Kawapro Co., Ltd. in Hokuriku using Toray's Lycra® fiber. Since the lurex yarn is JOETEX, it produces a unique luster that cannot be obtained elsewhere due to the effect of pure silver (Ag) used in plated metals, and it maintains the lurex luster even after processes such as acid dyeing, reactive dyeing, cationic dyeing, silking, refining, and reduction processing. Therefore, it is widely used as a highly versatile material. It effectively expresses lurex in materials that have been difficult to use in sportswear and other applications.
