The Exair Super Air Knife is a new generation air knife that dramatically reduces compressed air usage and noise compared to traditional blow-off products. This Super Air Knife provides an effective method for clean, high-temperature, or low-temperature products on conveyors. It delivers a powerful, uniform airflow that is thin like a knife across its entire width. When replaced with this compact Super Air Knife, the previously high noise of blow-off transforms into a whisper. Even with a compressed air supply pressure of 5.5 BAR, it achieves an astonishing quietness of 69 dBA in any application. The air amplification ratio is 40 times. It complies with the end pressure and noise standards set by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).

[Blow-off] The Super Air Knife is an ideal blow-off device for removing dust and moisture from conveyors, webs, or products. [Cooling] The compact Super Air Knife can generate a large volume of airflow even in very tight spaces. The volume and air power can be easily controlled by a pressure regulator.

Operating Principle of the Super Air Knife Compressed air is introduced into the plenum chamber of the Super Air Knife through the inlet (1). The flow is directed to a highly precise elongated orifice. The initial airflow exits from the thin, elongated nozzle (2) and is directed to a completely straight-line flat surface. This creates a sheet of air across the entire width of the Super Air Knife. Surrounding air is drawn in at a ratio of 40:1 to the initial airflow, minimizing speed loss and maximizing power.

Performance changes due to shim addition The Super Air Knife is shipped equipped with a 0.002-inch (0.05 mm) shim. This size is optimal for most applications. However, there may be cases where a stronger airflow or air volume is required. Thicker shims increase the gap and provide faster and more powerful airflow. Air consumption and noise will increase slightly. Shim sets can be purchased as a kit model or individually.
