A new separation technique that expands the possibilities for separating compounds that were difficult to separate using LC and GC.
ACQUITY UPC2 was born by applying ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) technology to supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC). This allows it to transcend traditional SFC and expand the separation domain of GC and LC chromatography. By using liquefied carbon dioxide (CO2) as the main mobile phase, it achieves high safety, cost reduction, and a lower environmental impact. It can simultaneously analyze mixtures containing compounds with significantly different polarities. Since all compounds that can be dissolved in solvents with lower polarity than alcohols, such as methanol, are targets for analysis, it caters to a wide range of analytical tasks in various fields, including pharmaceuticals, chemical industry, food, environment, and clinical applications. basic information
**Features** [Separation Selectivity] ○ CO2, the main mobile phase, acts as a non-polar solvent, providing a separation mode different from conventional reverse phase LC. [Safety] ○ CO2 is non-flammable, allowing for online connection with mass spectrometers, enabling "normal phase online MS analysis" of lipid and TAG (triacylglycerol) compounds. ○ Reduces the use of hazardous organic solvents in the lab. [Versatility] ○ A system designed for general use. ○ Ideal for routine separation and analysis of complex compounds that were previously difficult. [Productivity] ○ Compounds that require derivatization in GC can be analyzed by UPC2 without derivatization. ○ Direct injection of extraction solvents or reaction solutions is possible, and column re-equilibration is fast, achieving extremely high throughput and contributing to increased lab productivity. [Cost Reduction] ○ Replacing organic solvents with inexpensive CO2 reduces costs associated with purchase and disposal. ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
