A coating device equipped with an FS-type micro electrostatic valve for uniform application of fine particles.
The electrostatic coating valve is equipped with two methods of electrostatic micro-spray: one for forming thin film coatings with low viscosity materials and the other for forming films with medium to high viscosity coating materials in the range of several tens of micrometers. The electrostatic applied micro-spray method allows for film formation at the angstrom level. This method uses an FS micro-spray gun to generate liquid micro-particles, where a high voltage of 5 to 30 kV from a high voltage generator is applied to the needle at the gun's tip via a corona charging method. Simultaneously, corona discharge occurs from the tip of this needle (corona pin), creating an electric field between the coated object and the spray. The fine particles that pass through this electric field also become charged and adhere to the coated object.

basic information
By layering the applied fine particles, a thin film can be uniformly formed. Fine particles cannot coat the substrate solely by their inertial force. Electrostatic spray application allows for the extraction and transport of only the fine particles, which can then adhere to the substrate through the application of electrostatic force. Coating with the force of electrons can be said to provide good coverage due to the property of electric fields concentrating at the edges. Because of this characteristic, it is possible to form a film on substrates with complex shapes that cannot be coated using spin coating. For medium to high viscosity coating materials, the electrostatic micro-spray uses a screw extension or star-shaped air cap to mist the fine particles, which are then charged in the corona charging area for electrostatic application.
