basic information
TECHSPEC Acromatic Cylindrical Lenses (Cylindrical Lenses) have the same functionality as conventional standard cylindrical lenses, but they also offer the advantage of reducing spherical aberration and chromatic aberration at the image plane. When using a monochromatic light source, such as a laser diode, to focus light through the full aperture of the lens, the Acromatic Cylindrical Lens focuses light to a beam spot diameter that is 50-90% the size of that obtained with conventional cylindrical lenses (depending on the lens's NA). When using a broadband light source, it minimizes the occurrence of chromatic aberration, allowing for the generation of line light with minimal color separation. It also produces bright anamorphic images.
