basic information
Heat-absorbing glass is used to reduce the amount of unnecessary thermal light transmitted through optical systems. This product, made with Schott's (Germany) KG series filter glass, effectively absorbs light with wavelengths longer than the visible spectrum. Unlike hot mirrors that reflect infrared wavelengths, KG filter glass absorbs infrared radiation and disperses heat into the surrounding air. Schott's KG filter glass can also be used as a short-pass filter that transmits visible light while blocking infrared transmission. To alleviate stress within the substrate caused by heat, it is always recommended to use this product in conjunction with a cooling device.
