The gelatin filter (KODAK ratten filter) was originally designed as a filter for photography, but it is also used for various industrial applications by leveraging its characteristics. Organic dyes that function as filters are dissolved in gelatin raw materials, coated onto a flat substrate, and then left on the substrate until they dry and take shape. After drying, it is peeled off the substrate and finished with a protective lacquer. Even with the protective lacquer applied, care must be taken to hold the filter by the edges or corners when handling it. When installing this product on an optical bench, using a plate holder is convenient.
