Is the temperature of the PCR device being controlled accurately? The DRIFTCON System also helps reduce calibration costs.
The 【DRIFTCON System】 offers rental devices for measuring and monitoring the temperature inside thermal cyclers. By conducting inspections yourself, you can keep annual maintenance costs low. ■ Is your thermal cycler: → Accurately heating and cooling to the set temperature? → Maintaining uniform temperatures across all positions of the 96-well plate? → Achieving reproducibility between different models? → Being calibrated regularly and appropriately? → Causing you concerns about high annual maintenance fees? The 【DRIFTCON System】 can address these concerns for you.

basic information
This service allows you to rent a temperature measurement system optimally designed for each model of thermal cycler, enabling you to perform calibration yourself. - The operation is simple. Calibration is completed in 30 minutes per unit. - By allowing users to conduct measurements themselves, we keep the service at a low cost. - Since measurement and calibration can be done on-site, there is no need for the hassle of exchanging replacement units or shipping equipment. - We support approximately 992 models, covering almost all thermal cyclers available in the market.
Price information
Calibration for each thermal cycler block is ¥48,000 (excluding tax). An additional shipping fee of ¥4,000 will be charged per measurement system.

Applications/Examples of results
The 【DRIFTCOM System】 calibrates over 30,000 thermal cyclers annually, primarily in Europe and the United States. Users include public institutions such as NIST, FDA, and NIH, thermal cycler manufacturers, ISO 17025/15189 accredited businesses, various research institutions, and medical facilities, all of which rely on us for high-quality calibration of thermal cyclers. During calibration, we not only use the catalog specification data of the equipment as a comparison but also maintain a database of temperature control performance for each model of thermal cycler, providing results based on the specific model. Our system is managed according to international standards for temperature measurement devices, and we provide a traceability certificate (with ILAC-MRA certification), which can be used for ISO 17025 and ISO 15189 applications and audits. In the accreditation of testing laboratories based on ISO/IEC 17025, it is recommended that "monitoring of temperature and time for thermal cyclers and performance validation for real-time PCR be conducted annually." Detailed information
-
Measurement Probe (1) The photo shows a probe for a typical 96-well type thermal cycler. It performs temperature measurements at a total of 16 points, consisting of 15 points selected to be evenly spaced from the 96 wells plus 1 point for the LID section. All measurement probes are managed in accordance with international standards and will come with a traceability certificate (with ILAC-MRA certification).

Measurement Probe Installation Example (2) The photo shows an installation example for the Roche Life Science LightCycler(R) 480.
-
Result Example (1) During calibration, please execute the dedicated temperature program for calibration, and we will measure and monitor the temperature changes. The left figure is an example of the measurement results.
-
Result example (2) The temperature distribution of each well is graphically represented. Since temperature changes can be monitored in real-time, it is possible to visually grasp wells with rapid temperature changes and those with slower changes.

Our company, BioDot Japan Co., Ltd., was established in February 2012 as the Japanese subsidiary of BioDot Inc. in the United States, and we have been supplying various diagnostic reagents and production equipment. BioDot Inc. is a venture company founded in 1994 in Irvine, California. The company’s self-developed non-contact micro-dispenser system (patented) has become the de facto standard for the development and production of immunochromatographic reagents and enzyme sensor reagents, widely used around the world. Additionally, the company has continuously commercialized peripheral devices, which have now become essential support equipment in these fields. However, we believe that in order to further advance the increasingly important clinical testing technologies, it is necessary to provide a wide range of raw materials, information, and services from both domestic and international sources, not just BioDot products. Therefore, we transformed into ForDix Co., Ltd. in December 2015. The technology for diagnostic reagents developed through clinical testing is also applied in food testing and environmental testing, supporting our lives beyond the medical field. As a company that supports those who research, develop, and commercialize these areas, we will strive to become a trusted presence.
